Easter Reminded Me of the Miracles That Are My Children

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. Below is a tale of my road to becoming the mother of three. It was a road filled with joys and disappointments. However, I wouldn't giving nothing for my journey now. Here's to embracing every step of the journey, even the painful ones, and embracing the lessons learned along the way.

Everybody knows that I love, love, love The National Aviary. We are members and our daughter visits there every week to see the birds, hear stories, and to get warm on a cold day.

Well, I wanted you  to know that the National Aviary is celebrating Halloween in a very big way. They are hosting “Owl-o-Ween”.

"Owl-o-Ween" Details:



“Owl-o-Ween” will be this Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 3 PM. There will be great fun for adults and kids alike. There will be a Halloween party, trick-or-treating, costume contests, crafts, and even a creepy crawly bug station. Guests will also enjoy close encounters with raptors, owls and other creatures of the night. All activities included in price of admission.

Price:


Admission: $13 adults; $12 seniors; $11 children (over 2). Admission: Free for children under 2, and children 12 and under who wear a bird costume!

I love Halloween because its the only time I get to sort through my kids bags and take out all the chocolate candy for myself and my husband. My kids don't like chocolate so mom and dad are stuck with all the Reese's, Almond Joys, Baby Ruth, Whoppers and such. I also love watching my kids get excited about their costumes and taking photos to send to all my family and friends. I also look forward to the kids marching around the house well into November with their costumes on. Fall is also my favorite time of year. Seeing the changing leaves on the trees is soothing to the soul.
